Taupo AGM 2010 Download Forms
From it's earliest days the Capri Car Club has had a number of members interested in competitive events such as racing, gymkanas and point to points. The club became involved in running sprint events up and down the racing circuits of New Zealand to allow members the opportunity of competing on a very small budget. Most of the cars were fairly standard and all one needed was a wired sump plug, dual accelerator springs, a fire extinguisher, overalls and helmet. Racing was probably never so even as the cars were so similar to one another. However, to strive for that extra handling and performance along came slicks, engine, body and suspension modifications etc.
The club nowadays has a number of members who have spent considerable sums of money on preparing their cars to a very high standard and race competively around the country. Other members have various modifiactions to their every day road car and others have left theirs totally original.
Taupo racetrack is hired each year over the AGM weekend and the club hosts a round of classic car racing at Manfield each year. Members also compete in local hillclimbs and others manage to compete in overseas racing events.
